GM xxxx Transit Bus converted to RV 7 - 8 yrs ago, 8V71 diesel engine the most reliable! 4 speed transmission, Front End and Full Rear End has the New Modern Look fiberglass upgrade kit that cost a little under $5,000 and makes the Bus-RV look Modern with Modern Lights ( NICE ) You would never know it was xxxx if the windows were upgraded! Many have no idea other then us Bus Nuts. Has a heavy Duty Hitch welded on and no issues, Pulled a car back and forth to Florida many times, NOW the trailer hitch set up has a Nice Heavy Duty Motor Cycle Carrier! with removable ramp that allows you to push bike on with ease and strap down eye bolts, I have carried my motorcycle to Florida 8 times and never a worry! Motor cycle carrier pulls off fairly easy if you dont want it left on..7 ys ago new air bags, front shocks, $xxxx new radiator $xxxx, Axle and All Transit Brake Shoes CMT22A1 Installed and All New Brake Drums and related Replaced 4 yrs ago with less then 12,000 miles on them! Cost me way over $8,000 Seriously but you will never have to do a brake job ever again, These are commercial air brakes and good for 250k to 500,000 plus miles! 3 yrs ago New Base Coat - Clear Coat Paint Job $12,000 Took a Month..Everyone wanted $17,000 to Strip off old paint and Paint with high end paint, The paint is Martin Seniour - Cross-Fire Base Coat - Clear Coat system, Like all new cars, PLUS i have spare paint for any future touch ups! 6yrs ago Plus matching Dark Green Cloth-Canvas 22 foot A&E Awning i had personally visited the factory in Indiana and had A&E Make this awning, Rv dealers wanted over $xxxx and i had A&E make at $xxxx and its still like new! 3yrs ago just just for piece of mind i had the entire Clutch System replaced with everything!!! and had a New Steering shaft and U Joint installed and some misc other repairs-upgrades, Cost $xxxx at US Coach, NJ, Steering is power assist and nice, Not all that side play anymore! Tight Steering and Very nice to drive. New Engine Air Compressor 6 yrs ago and larger for more air cfm output! New fuel pump, New starter - charger relay 1 years ago! New adjustable voltage regulator 5 yrs ago. Spin on fuel filters installed, Spin on engine oil filter kit installed and now easy to replace!! Original Oil Bath Air Filters and these are nice and no rust and replaced 6 yrs ago also so if you are good at maintenance and change oil within 6,000 miles and wash out engine air filters once a year these will out last you! Oil changes can go for 10,000 miles should you want? But i would suggest at least change the $8.00 Engine Oil Filter at least, I always changed the oil within 3,000 miles whether it needed it or not! I even serviced my rig whether it needed it or not once a year if sitting, If i used the rv i would grease entire bus zerk fittings once a month !!! Change the 7 gallons of engine oil every xxxx to 3,000 miles ALWAYS!!!! I Adjust the brake shoes every 3,000 miles which is so easy anyone can learn and takes 40 minutes! I am the type who over does maintenance as i was a mechanic for years, xxxx miles is over kill, But hey i like being safe and having a reliable rig! I do the same with generator i would always change my oil using Penzoil, Engine 30wt in summer and the bus engine during summer hot months and long heavy long trips i would use 40wt Delavan special low ash etc oil and change engine filter sometimes at xxxx miles, Then oil and filter again at xxxx miles,Ya its over kill, But its only $8 to $20 for a good oil filter! The engine has been very well maintained and very reliable! Never let me done, One time the starter went and all i had to do was let the bus roll a little and put in gear and jump starts the engine, Remember Detroit Diesel 8V71everyone knows is very reliable and doesn't use any electrical ignition system or glow plugs, Nothing, It starts on Compression, The only electrical parts are the starter and oil cooled engine battery generator! Ya simple and reliable..Bus will drive 75 to 80 mile per hour and thats fast! and why i wanted the best braking system upgrades money could buy !!!!! Drives straight and yes had Alignment done, Tires are Goodyear and good for many more years so no worries about shoes, Plus i have 1 or 2 spares tires and rims, The bus front bumper folds down and were a spare tire is stored! Nice and if you have Good Sam Emergency Road service program at $79 a year folks its the best insurance as i had a tire go years ago and cost me nothing for them to come out and install spare! Plus you get free towing! Towing alone can cost a $700 to a $xxxx and its free and i suggest Good Sam Club at $79 a year is the best i have seen. It even covers your cars if memory serves me correct. There is so much invested and done i lost count around $80,000, But put majority of money all into Mechanical Repairs - Upgrades and i have Never Broke Down !!! New Starter 5 yrs ago, New Batterys 3 yrs ago also, 3 tractor trailer type and another huge golf cart type, Thats 4 batterys with plenty of addition power! Generator is an older very reliable Onan Model BF gasoline, 25 gallon made tank for it so it will run days! 3 AC Units in roof, 2 are new 4 to 6 yrs back and run great, 3rd runs but need new thermostat and i may have. Also in Middle Center in ceiling is a Fantastic 3 speed Fan with Reverse this is nice and they are well known fans, Sucks hot air or cooking smoke out, Night brings in cool outdoor air with cleanable screen. The converted bus is 120 volt wired up and also 12 dc lighting, Generator start and stop switches are drivers area and bedroom! Next inside closet is a Aquastar Instant Gas Hot Water Heater and works good, Depends on incoming water temp, Summer time no issues and plenty of endless hot water, Has water flow adjustments also! Always able to take a shower and not run out of water if connected to city water supply, The 140 of fresh water would last me 3 days! The shower has a shut off head button and u can wet up,wash up and rinse off and the water would last me 3 to 5 days! Then i would drive into the truck stops and get FREE water fill ups and FREE Dumping! Thats whats nice about the well known truck stops besides good food is they cater to Rvers! You can get everything gas, diesel, propane should you need? To allot of free things besides water and dumping, Place to stay and park and eat, Most have good security also. Ok, Back to the bus, YES it has a Nice Full Shower and bathroom is fairly small but has sink and storage space and new toilet 5ys ago and 55 gallon sewer tank for toilet only!, Gray water is a 55 gallon tank with easy multi valve dump set up for gray water, 1 for sewage, all in one connection! Gray water has additional separate valve as gray water can be disposed of easy. So gray water has its own tank, Fresh water 150 gallons in plastic drums plumbed together, Again easy set up with bypass valve for city water quick connection or use onboard 150 gallons of water with 12 volt water pump system! 2 large Diesel Tanks, Main tank was replaced 6yrs ago with ultra heavy duty steel made with internal baffles and it holds 140 plus gallons and then there is a spare 120 gallon tank, Thats 260 gallons of fuel storage ! PLUS there is a DOT Propane Tank 60 gallons, YES 60 gallons that will last months! So for what ever its worth, As soon as you find a spot to park or camp ground ? Within 10 minutes if that long, I have everything so you quickly pull power cord outside in hidden side mini door from its socket disconnects from generator circuit and hook right up to park electric its so easy no switches to play with! Take out the water hose and less then 1 minute it connects up to city water and will fill your tanks all at the same time! Allot of thought went into this, Sewer hose, Open door and within 1 minute its hooked up.. No pulling the hose out of the bumper! I made its so easy, Plus No Sewer Pipes underneath the coach that everyone tears off or breaks from backing over something! Common problems with Rvs, The pipes are all inside the lower storage compartments, Open one door and everything is inside and ready! Its nice and no more broken sewer piping like so many Rvs.
Chocolate carpeting through out the bus and new 5 or 6 yrs ago and i have taken care of it and matching floor mats for stairs going inside and drivers area. See photos, The Windows are all original and fairly nice for its age see pictures in link below, One D side window has a few cracks that you cannot see and been this way for years, Its just a small window near passenger seat again you have to really look hard to see the minor crack and all windows are Limo Tinted i had done in Indiana. Full Privacy.. The Inside Front area is all original with updated to look nicer, Could use some repainting inside drivers area! I just havent had the time, More paint peeling from cold weather usage near windows to the left of drivers area, Now there is a Nice Wrap around Driver Panels and gauge provisions thats available should you want to make it look modern at drivers area, Its not that much money either i just never got that far, I spent more money into making bus - rv mechanically reliable and nice looking outside. The inside has a living room with a Futon Couch - kitchen area with full counter with 2 burner Gas Cook top and Broiler underneath by Rinia! 1 small table for 2 people and computer built in desk.It would be easy for someone to upgrade to your likings! The bathroom is 3/4 of the way down on left, the remaining 1/4 in backend is the Bedroom with full size 2 new futon mattresses as i like a somewhat firm bed and underneath is a large Hidden Storage area! TV stand, Storage Compartments and Small Closet and Enclosure for clothing and items. Bedroom came out fairly nice in my opinion. Now this RV-Bus can be very easy to convert the inside to what ever your needs are with very little effort, Remove the couch and table and shorten counter top and you could install 4 Bunk beds! Its all open and would be easy to redesign to your needs. Bus still has its window heaters that work great.. Propane main space heater in center back on wall of bus and heats the inside very easy!!! But not need while driving as the bus heater up front in drivers area does the job, But once you stop you can turn on the propane heater and it will blow you out as it puts out allot of heat.
One more Nice Bonus; There is a nice and most reliable crank up satellite dish with the Angle meter inside, Once you have parked somewhat level its easy to crack up the dish and find your satelite, I have had those $xxxx to $xxxx Automated so called self tracking dishes and nothing but issues, May all has changed in 4 or 5 years but the good old reliable crank up dish has never let me done! No electronics to break down either! PLUS i have a secret weapon i will even leave on the dish, 1st as you travel you should always have internet access right? Well if you need internet access i have this resolved and FREE, You buy a $35 to $50 pocket wifi finder its called ( Canarywireless WiFi Finder ) as you travel around you will find many open unsecured wifi signals and determine there strength, Well I have a Professional WiFi Antenna and Router System 12 volt or 120 volt it came with, Forget the name? This special antenna setup i bought 3 years ago i mounted on the backside of the satellite dish, Once you find a good open signal, Malls, Coffee shops, Colleges, Library, you get the idea. You just crank up the dish go and turn on the special router it comes with, Turn on your computer and log on to that signal, The signal can be 1/4 mile away even and you can get online and check your emails or do what ever! Its the greatest purchase i ever made and never did i ever pay for any service! Four months traveling and was able to get online when ever i wanted! I will even throw this in. Now back to the converted rv bus...
So anyone who does not know buses, Please keep in mind it takes HOURS to explain everything, Please do some research prior to calling, Once you buy i will go over everything and explain all that will take me hours !!! So you fully understand everything.. But only after you have purchased, I believe i have covered most above, Come see or try calling, BUT Only Serious Buyer PLEASE !!! This RV-Bus needs a good home and someone who will use it and appreciate the work done and $80,000 invested, But don't ask me for any further price reduction, I had it for sale once for a few weeks and most had no knowledge about buses and there being more heavy duty and reliable then your run of the mill rv. I just don't have time to discuss why a bus converted to an RV or how things work, Once bought and paid for i will be happy to educate you on everything and how to drive a bus standard transmission and what and what not you should do! and preventative maintenance how to. These are heavy duty and why folks seek out for Rvs, The brakes and air suspension and body, engine will out last any basic made RV you will buy unless it has a Prevost Chassis, Yes some RV manufactures use Prevost Bus bodys and engines for there high end coaches made.
One last thought, Remember if you as a Rver ever have a repair - part replaced, Brakes, Tires, Exhaust, as an example it will in most cases last for ever or out last YOU, These are transit buses designed to travel hundreds of thousands of miles back and forth through out the entire USA many many times before ever replacing brakes or parts and designed to run non stop daily ! So ask yourself, Will you ever travel like this bus was made for__? Now you understand, These are so heavy duty you as a home owner - rver don't have to worry about parts wearing out or breaking down. Thats why Rvers buy them and convert them, They last forever and very reliable! Parts are still available, Join a Bus Nut Club and you will learn allot.. Plus were to get parts and how to do things. Again many places still make parts as there are many buses still out there and many manufactures share the same parts.
Reduced from last fall price to $27,000 and a steal.. Add up what i spent in the last 3 years, Paint job $12,000, Clutch System and Steering Work $xxxx, Brakes $8,000 Thats $35,000 within the last three years ! Not to mention everything else that was done, Plus the bus value! This is a deal and those who know buses will agree.. Thank You PS; I have the Bus entire Service Manual also... Email me TheBoilerMan at Gmail . Com or Call my Office Monday thru Saturday 10am and No Later then 6pm !!!!! 7days a week 802-373-xxxx Serious Buyers only, I will deliver as far as No Carolina Only once i received a $ xxxx.00 non refundable Deposit ! and signed paper work! xxxx Gm xxxx , 25 to 27,000 lbs loaded weight, 35 foot long, Standard inside height , No Special Drivers License needed as long as its registered as a motor home within most states
